Traveling Mailbox Setup Steps
Subscribe to a Traveling Mailbox
The first step begins by Subscribing. Upon subscribing, your new address will be issued to you and you can login to your new Traveling Mailbox via our secure website.
Step 1USPS Form 1583
To verify your identity and to establish a private mailbox, the USPS requires completion of the USPS Form 1583. This step is done after you initially login to your account for the first time.
Step 2Send your Postal Mail to us!
Update your address with senders of your mail or issue a change of address online at USPS.com
Step 3You tell us what to do!
As your mail arrives, we will scan the outside of your envelopes and then you tell us what to do! Open and scan the contents, Forward the item to you, or Shred!
Step 4
USPS Form 1583 Notice
The USPS Form 1583 gives us permission to receive your mail. We cannot open and scan your mail until you have completed, and returned us the completed USPS Form 1583. Once we have received your completed form, we will notify you via email that we have received your completed USPS Form 1583.

For 7 years we lived outside the US. Traveling Mailbox served as our US home base and we could keep our US credit card, bank account, and other US-based services active without having to rely on international mail (slow and unreliable). TM does a great job of scanning and delivering physical mail quickly and their online system is easy to use. When my mom died, I was even able to forward her mail to my existing TM mailbox while I settled her estate. Customer service is responsive and helpful, too. I recommend TM for anyone who needs monitored mail services while on the road or living outside the US.
