Traveling Mailbox adopts and implements stringent security protocols to ensure that each and every piece of mail that we receive remains secure. Your Traveling Mailbox can be secured with Two Factor Authentication and FaceID is available with our iOS App. Your Traveling Mailbox is encrypted over a secure connection using 256 bit SSL encryption.

All of your postal mail is scanned (if requested) directly by Traveling Mailbox Staff. All staff undergo rigorous screening and background checks and are under video surveillance when performing tasks. Video evidence of tasks performed on your mail is available upon request.

Traveling Mailbox Facilities & Operations

Traveling Mailbox has built its own custom mail facility to handle our operations. Our facility is not open to the public and is under 24/7 Access Control with over 25 cameras including facial recognition cameras. Our facility has automatic generators standing by in the event of a power failure and  multiple fiber internet lines that are completely independent and redundant. All customer data is securely encrypted and replicated multiple times to other targets. All of our systems are monitored 24/7, 365 days per year. Our goal is to remain operating no matter what comes our way.

Are Virtual Mailboxes Secure?

Instead of your postal mail sitting out by the road where anyone can grab it, your mail is securely delivered to us and processed by our team. You remain in complete control and we only do what you tell us to do with your postal mail.

What address will I get for my mail?

Traveling Mailbox can provide our North Carolina Address for use in order to receive HIPAA related mail. This will ensure your mail remains in our hand and at our facility at all times. 

Are all employees given background checks?

Yes! Traveling Mailbox thoroughly screens all potential team members who go through a verified background check and regular security awareness training.

Is Traveling Mailbox HIPAA Compliant?

Traveling Mailbox adopts and implements standards based on HIPAA guidelines and recommendations. We constantly monitor and update our standards throughout the year. 

Do you open my mail?

Only if you tell us to! When your mail arrives, we will scan the outside of the envelope and it is then shown to you. Then you can have the item opened and scanned or forwarded to you anywhere in the world. 

Do you offer Two Factor Authentication?

Yes! You can secure your account beyond a traditional username and password by deploying Two Factor Authentication on your account. SMS Text or the use of an Authenticator App of your choice.

Will you shred my mail?

Yes! Shredding is included on all accounts and is totally free. We shred all postal mail on site at Traveling Mailbox.

Are your mail operations facility secure?

Our entire facility is under secure access control 24/7 with facial recognition cameras. Our facility is not open to the general public under any circumstances. We make every reasonable effort to ensure that your data remains confidential and secure.

Can you send me my mail unopened?

Yes! Mail Forwarding is available anywhere in the world. You can request your mail to be shipped to you wherever you are and unopened if you wish. We only open and scan your mail if you tell us to.

Will Traveling Mailbox perform company required security audits?

Due to time constraints, Traveling Mailbox only performs audits related to HIPAA and Security through its own internal system. We can provide our policies on how we handle HIPAA if requested.
